STREAM INFORMATION
Our live stream is available in a number of different formats. Some work best on certain devices. Below is an explanation of each format and how to play them on your computer or device.
Windows Media Player – WMA:
This is Microsofts format for streaming audio and is best suited for you if you are using windows and Windows Media Player. We stream at two speeds. The ‘High’ Speed is 160Kbps and is best for a good broadband connection. The ‘Low’ speed is currently 64Kbps and is good for ISDN or if the ‘High’ speed is not streaming well or buffering for you.

iTunes – MP3:
MP3 is an extremely popular way of encoding audio and we offer two MP3 streams. They will work in most MP3 players including iTunes, Winamp, VLC. We are currently streaming MP3 at two bitrates 128Kbps and 48Kbps.

AAC+ Stream:
Advanced Audio Codec +
This is an extremely good codec at lower bitrates. It is playable in most players including VLC, Winamp and Real Player. There is also an AAC+ Plugin available for Windows Media Player 9.

Excellent open source codec. We recommend VLC to listen.

iPod Touch/iPhone:
We prefer FStream which you can get for you device here.
After installing FStream if you start the application and click on Favorites and then edit. Then add new webradio. Add the Name as Power Low. The url as http://live.powerfm.org/asx/powerfm.ogg.m3u ,format as ogg and Bitrate as 48. Then click on Save. This stream you can listen to on your iPhone when you are on the Cellular Network. This allows you to listen to PowerFM on your iPhone when on the Train/Bus etc..
To add a higher bitrate stream in Fstream click on Favorites and then edit. Then add new webradio. Add the name as Power High. In the url part add http://live.powerfm.org/asx/powerfm.mp3.m3u, format as MP3 and bitrate as 128. Then click on Save. This stream is best on your iPhone/iPod touch when you are connected to WIFI
